Muslim Comics: Challenging Prejudice

maz jobrani

Here are a couple of Muslim comedians who can find humor in almost anything. The first clip below is from Maz Jobrani's comedy show  called  "Axis of Evil,"  which started in 2005.

Jobrani is an Iranian American. He's written a book called “I’m Not a Terrorist, But I've Played One On TV” and continues to tour the country performing at comic studios.

The second clip comes from a TedX talk by Ahmed Ahmed, called "When it Comes to Laughter, We Are All Alike." Ahmed is an Egyptian comic who performs regularly at the Comedy Store in Hollywood. Finally, here's a 2007 New York Times review of the Axis of Evil, called "Comedians as Activists, Challenging Prejudice."
